Dawn was going to be put to sleep until the SPCA decided to contact Louisiana Boxer Rescue. One of the Rescue foster moms picked her up and took her straight to the vet. The Vet was very optimistic about Dawn regaining some of her vision back, so Dawn was started on antibiotic treatment. After about a week, her eyes began to improve and Dawn then underwent surgery. The surgery was a success. She is now able to see extremely well and her sight continues to improve as she grows. Even though she will never have perfect vision, it will never prevent her from ruling the roost at her new home (her foster mom and family who couldn't let her go). She has proven to be practically fearless and never hesitates to play a game of cat and mouse with her new boxer brother and sister. She has also started her obedience training and she is seeing so well that she might do some agility training for fun.

Dawn paid her shelter friends a visit over the holidays with Kristy, her new mom. They were so happy to see her!
